PublNet is an Asian game publisher and video game networking session. The event had to be changed to a virtual version as many of the overseas publishers were unable to travel out of their countries. PublNet housed a main stage webcast, in which several companies showcased their latest work and projects. Small rooms called ‘Chat Zones’ were set up to enable more intimate groups of like-minded attendees to network.
Based on a post-event user survey, attendees felt that they achieved most of their goals despite not meeting face to face. Game companies were able to meet and interact with the publishers successfully. Games are also an easier product to discuss as they are virtual in nature and attendees did not need to touch and feel the product.
